The CBOE Volatility Index ($VIX) is making a run to its best levels of the day amid a late-day decline in equities. With 15 min. remaining, VIX is up .88 to 27.24. The increase in risk perceptions is palpable in the bond market as well; with the benchmark ten-year Treasury getting back all of Tuesday?s losses and then some. Its yield is down from almost 3.6 percent yesterday, to 3.48 amid ongoing worries about the economy and deep-seated troubles in the financial world.
