RealNetworks (RNWK, news, chart) options volume is running seven times the normal after Verizon (VZ) introduced the Rhapsody subscription music service on several handsets. The service lets users download as much music as they want for a flat $15 monthly fee. Also, Rhapsody’s online store started selling songs free of Digital Rights Management [DRM], or copy protection, software. The move puts Rhapsody, which is a joint venture between RNWK and Viacom, in the company of Apple and Amazon, which already offer DRM free downloads from their music stores. Options traders liked the news. With shares trading up 7 cents to $6.64, 2,769 RNWK call options traded, compared to just 28 puts. Directional sentiment based on today’s total order flow is 91 percent bullish.
