Microsoft (MSFT, news, chart, volatility) calls are active ahead of a conference call today at 12:00 Eastern Time. The company said in a press release Friday that it will hold a call “with Scott Guthrie, corporate vice president of the .NET Developer Division at Microsoft. Guthrie will make a significant announcement related to Microsoft Silverlight.” Shares are up $2.08 to $23.58 and 52,000 MSFT calls have traded, more than double the number of put options. The October 25 callsare the most actives, with almost 9,000 traded. Earnings are due out on October 23 and after the October options expiration.
