A massive trade went up in calls on the Utilities ETF this afternoon, as a customer bought 150,000 April 25 calls for 45cents to gain a great deal of upside exposure in the sector. Currently 7.8% out of the money, the total premium of $6.75 million will represent a notional value of $375million if the ETF trades above the $25 strike. Crossed by BLT Securities on the AMEX and sources say the order size was too large for the NYSE(AMEX) computer system to handle in one tranche. Similar trade in XLI Industrials ETF 3mins later.
