The CBOE Volatility Index (.VIX) is down .28 to 42.65 and at session highs as stocks give back most of the morning gains. The S&P 500 is up 3.84 points and down more than 16 points from its best levels of the day. The slide gathered momentum 30 min ago following disappointing results from the latest auction of 5-year Treasurys, which comes the same day that UK failed to attract enought bidders in its bond auction. Treasurys are under pressure and the yield on the ten-year is up to 2.78 percent from 2.65 percent late yesterday.
