Flow Monitor Tip 4

| April 14, 2010 | 4 Comments More

If you want to take a closer look at the options action in a specific name, use the Flow Monitor to see the Most Actives (Menu Option 4). For example, take a look in the Bearish Flow Table to the right and look at KRE and its most actives.

In addition to seeing the most actives by volume, you can see a lot of other stuff like, whether or not the action was part of spread trading, whether or not its opening (volume > open interest) and whether the action is predominantly on the bid (red) or offer (green). By looking at the most actives, you can not only see which options are seeing action, but also find trading ideas (spreads) and get a better sense of overall sentiment in that specific name.

S-E-X-Y Let me get my taxes done bud, and we might touch base soon, but wow, discovering you have a lot of competition, sry, but still like the flow monitor best so far.

Thanks Rainman. Yes, the Flow Monitor is a great tool.

There is also a lot of competition, true, but no other service that offers this much information for $79 per month. Most are charging $199 or more. We’re also a lot better at interpreting the order flow. We focus on the options market and not on CNBC appearances or tweeting all day during market hours. haha.

Is it possible to use the flow monitor on the iPhone, as well as other tools on this site.

  4. fredruffy says:

Good question. You can read the blog posts from the iPhone, but that’s about it. We have an instant messenger version available that might work better with some mobile devices. I’m not 100 percent sure. I’ll do some digging.
