CBOE Volatility Index (.VIX) is up 2.94 to 21.38, session highs, with the S&P 500 making a run lower late Friday. The S&P 500 is down 15.5 points and 1 point above its worst levels of 1190.39. There doesn’t seem to be one specific catalyst for the late day drop and the weakness is widespread across a variety of sectors. For example, within the Dow Jones Industrial Average, the biggest losers are Caterpillar (CAT), GE, BofA (BAC), JP Morgan (JPM), and Intel (INTC).
