| August 15, 2012 | 0 Comments More

iShares Australia (EWA) is off 8 cents to $23.39 and an Oct 20 – 23 (2X1) put ratio spread is opened on the ETF for 50 cents, 3000X on ARCA. The 1X2 might be a short-term bearish bet on the view Australia’s equity markets will give back some recent gains. EWA is up 13.6 percent from it’s late-June lows. On a somewhat related note, a recent ranking listed Melbourne, Australia as the number one place to live. According to the Economist Intelligence Unit global liveability study, Vienna, Australia and Vancouver, Canada are ranked second and third. No US cities made the list. Helsinki is the only other European city. Abidjan, Cote d’Ivoire, Tehran, Iran, and Douala, Cameroon are ranked as the worst places to live — LINK to complete list.
